NEET Latest Update:

Introduction: NEET 2024 serves as a uniform entrance examination for medical institutions, encompassing both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. It is conducted in Hindi, English, and various other languages.

Examination Authority: The designated authority ensures the uniformity of language and examination standards for NEET 2024.

Exception for 2016-17 Academic Year: A provision exempts the 2016-17 academic year from certain regulations, specifically at the undergraduate level. It applies when the State Government has not opted for such examinations.

Legal Standing: The provisions of NEET 2024 hold irrespective of court judgments or orders, ensuring the continuity of uniform entrance examination standards.

Establishment of National Testing Agency (NTA): The Central Government established NTA to conduct entrance examinations, mandated by the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.

NTA Objectives: NTA operates independently, conducting transparent, efficient, and international standard tests. It also undertakes research on educational systems, identifies experts for question setting, and disseminates information on education standards.

Responsibility of NTA: NTA’s responsibility is limited to conducting entrance tests, declaring results, and providing All India Rank to the Directorate General of Health Services.

NEET 2024 Entrance Test Date: The exam is scheduled for 07 May 2024 (Sunday) from 02:00 p.m. to 05:20 p.m. The schedule remains unchanged even if the test date is a public holiday.

NEET 2024 General Instructions: The National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 follows the regulations of the Indian Medical Council Act-1956 and the Dentists Act-1948. Here are crucial general instructions:

  • Admission Guarantee: Merely appearing and qualifying in NEET 2024 doesn’t guarantee admission to MBBS/BDS courses. Admission depends on meeting various criteria set by authorities.
  • False Information: Applications containing false information will lead to disqualification, and candidates submitting such applications may be debarred from future NTA examinations.
  • Rejection of Incomplete Applications: Incomplete applications or those not following instructions are liable to be rejected without further intimation. The examination fee, once deposited, will not be refunded in such cases.
  • Application Submission: The submission of online applications and payment of the fee will close as per the schedule. Once submitted, applications cannot be withdrawn.
  • Updated Instructions: Instructions provided in the Information Bulletin may change based on decisions by the NTA. Candidates are advised to check the official website regularly for updates.
  • NTA’s Right to Withdraw Permission: NTA reserves the right to withdraw permission inadvertently granted to any candidate found ineligible, even if the Roll Number and Admit Card have been issued.
  • Provisional Eligibility: Candidate eligibility for NEET 2024 is provisional and subject to fulfilling eligibility criteria as prescribed by various authorities.
  • NTA’s Interpretation: In case of ambiguity in instructions, NTA’s interpretation shall be final and binding.
  • Videography: The NEET 2024 Examination will be videographed. Candidates must keep their heads upright and face the camera during videography for clear identification.

The examination follows a specific pattern:

  • Physics: Two sections: Section A (35 Questions) and Section B (15 Questions, choose any 10). Total Questions: 50. Time Duration: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM. Marks: 180. Type: Objective with four options, marking scheme applies.
  • Chemistry: Two sections: Section A (35 Questions) and Section B (15 Questions, choose any 10). Total Questions: 50. Time Duration: 02:00 PM to 05:00 PM. Marks: 180. Type: Objective with four options, marking scheme applies.

Age Criteria:

  1. Candidates should be 17 years old at the time of admission or will reach this age on or before December 31 of the admission year.

Upper Age Limit:

  5. Candidates from J&K must submit online Self Declaration for 15% All India Quota seats.
  6. No request for change in particulars after submission.

NEET 2024 Latest Update: Important Instructions:

  1. The Admit Card is mandatory for admission to the Examination Hall. Candidates without a valid Admit Card will not be allowed under any circumstances.
  2. Invigilators will check Admit Cards to confirm the identity of each candidate. Invigilators will also sign on the Answer Sheet and Attendance Sheet.
  3. Candidates must occupy their allotted seats. If found in a seat other than allotted, candidature will be canceled.
  4. Entry after 01:30 p.m. is not permitted.
  5. Essential documents to bring:
    • Print copy of Admit Card downloaded from NTA’s website.
    • One passport size photograph (same as uploaded on the Online Application Form) for pasting on the attendance sheet.
    • Any one of the authorized photo IDs (original, valid, and non-expired).
    • PwD certificate issued by the Competent Authority if claiming relaxation under PwD category.
  6. Barred items are strictly prohibited in the examination center. Possession will lead to penalties.
  7. Smoking is strictly prohibited in the examination center.
  8. Candidates are not allowed to bring food and beverages. Diabetic candidates can carry specific eatables with prior intimation.
  9. The Test will start and end at the scheduled times. Candidates must follow instructions by the invigilator.
  10. The candidate must sign twice on the Attendance Sheet and provide Finger Impressions.
  11. The Test Booklet Code on Side-2 of the Answer Sheet will be the final reference for evaluation.
